title: Command Bar & Keyboard Shortcuts
description: Find notes, run actions, navigate Octarine, and search the built-in keyboard shortcut reference.
---

The Command Bar is the fastest way to navigate Octarine and discover actions without leaving the keyboard.

## Opening the Command Bar

Press `Cmd/Ctrl + K` from anywhere in Octarine. Start typing to search:

- Notes and folders
- Views, Graph, Inbox, and Ask Octarine
- Workspace and app actions
- Actions for the focused note or tab
- Settings and maintenance commands

Results change with context. Note actions appear when a note is focused, while workspace and app actions remain available throughout the app.

## Recently Viewed

Press `Cmd/Ctrl + Y` or run **Recently Viewed** from the Command Bar to reopen recent notes, views, chats, graph tabs, and Inbox items.

Select **Clear Recently Viewed** at the end of the list to remove the history. Rebuilding the workspace database also clears Recently Viewed.

## Keyboard Shortcut Reference

Open the searchable shortcut sheet in any of these ways:

- Press `Cmd + ?` on macOS
- Open the Help menu and choose **Keyboard Shortcuts**
- Open the Command Bar and run **Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat sheet**
- Click the `?` help button and choose **Keyboard Shortcuts**

The sheet groups shortcuts by app navigation, tabs, the file tree, editor actions, tables, and other contexts. Search by action name to narrow the list.
