Library

Browse, create, search, sort, and organize your notes and folders

Library is the main screen for your workspace. It shows notes and folders at the current level, with a collapsible Pinned section at the workspace root.

Browse Folders

Tap a folder to open it, or tap a note to open the editor. Inside a folder, use the back button or swipe from the left edge to return to its parent.

Tap the folder name in the header to open the folder switcher. It lets you jump directly to the workspace root or any nested folder without backing out one level at a time.

Folder rows show how many notes they contain. Note rows include a short content preview when one is available.

Create Notes and Folders

Tap + in the Library header to create a note in the folder you are viewing. If the workspace has templates, choose Blank Note or From Template. Otherwise, a blank note is created immediately.

Open the options menu in the header for New Note, New Folder, and sorting. You can also long-press a folder and create a note or subfolder inside it.

The global New Note Command Bar action uses the default folder configured under Settings → Files. The Library header always uses the folder currently open.

Search the Current Folder

Tap the search button in the Library header to search the current folder and its descendants. Results show matching names and content, highlight the match, and include their folder path. Close search to return to the normal folder listing.

For a full-workspace search with case, whole-word, regex, title, and sorting controls, use Search.

Sorting

Open the folder options menu and choose Sort this folder. The workspace root uses Sort workspace. Each folder can use one of six orders:

  • Name: A–Z or Z–A
  • Created: newest or oldest first
  • Modified: newest or oldest first

Note Actions

Long-press a note for:

  • Pin or Unpin
  • Rename
  • Duplicate
  • Move to Folder
  • Delete

Folder Actions

Long-press a folder for:

  • Pin or Unpin
  • Change Icon
  • New Note or New Folder
  • Rename
  • Move to Folder
  • Delete

Deleting a folder also deletes everything inside it, so Octarine asks for confirmation first.
