Settings

Open Settings from the More menu. The settings page is organized into sections covering appearance, editor behavior, date formatting, account management, and more.

At the top of the page, you'll see your workspace's colored avatar, name, and storage location. Tap Switch to change to a different workspace.

Preferences

Themes

Appearance has two separate theme pickers — Light Theme and Dark Theme. Each opens a searchable theme list, filtered to that mode, so your light and dark choices can be set independently. The app follows your device's light/dark setting.

Octarine includes 31 themes — 12 light and 19 dark. The theme picker lets you search by name and preview each one.

Light themes: Default Light, Gruvbox Light, Solarized, Vesper Light, Rose, Rosepine Dawn, Olive, Ayu Light, Synthwave Light, Catppuccin Latte, Forest Light, Xcode Light.

Dark themes: Default Dark, Dim Dark, Gruvbox Dark, Vesper, Vesper Dusk, Cyberpunk, Dracula, Rosepine, Rosepine Moon, Ayu Dark, Synthwave, Catppuccin Mocha, Catppuccin Macchiato, Catppuccin Frappe, Monokai Pro, Monokai Spectrum, Monokai Ristretto, Forest Dark, Xcode Dark.

Interface Font

Choose the font used throughout the app's interface (not the editor — that's separate). Six options:

Dictation

Octarine includes built-in voice-to-text powered by Whisper. Configure it here:

A status row below the selector shows the selected model, its size on disk, and whether it's installed. Tap Download to fetch the model, or Delete to remove it and free up space.

Date & Time

Date Format

A text input where you define how dates are displayed throughout the app. The default is EEEE, MMMM d (e.g., "Wednesday, April 15"). A live preview below the input shows what the current date looks like with your format.

The format uses date-fns tokens:

Week Starts On

Choose which day the calendar week begins on. Options are Sunday through Saturday. This affects the Daily Desk calendar grid layout.

About

Shows the app version and commit hash. Two links are available:

• Send Feedback — opens an email to the Octarine team.
• Join the Discord — opens the Octarine Discord community.

Manage License

This section appears if you have an active license. It shows the email your license is registered to.

Tap Deactivate License to remove the license from this device. Your notes remain on disk — deactivation only signs you out of the app. You'll need to re-activate with your license key to use Octarine again.

Delete Workspace

At the bottom of the Settings page under "Danger Zone". This permanently removes the workspace from Octarine's registry. The actual files on disk are not deleted — only the app's association with that folder is removed.

A confirmation screen shows the workspace name and a warning before you can proceed.
