Migrate Incomplete Tasks

A powerful automation feature that helps you maintain task continuity by moving unfinished tasks from previous days to today's daily note.

How It Works

When you open today's daily note, Octarine checks the last 7 days for any incomplete tasks. If found, a migration button appears allowing you to move all unfinished tasks to today with a single click.

Using Task Migration

Automatic Detection

• Checks daily notes from the last 7 days (not just yesterday)
• Only appears when incomplete tasks are found
• Shows which date tasks will be migrated from

Migration Process

1. Open today's daily note
2. Look for the "Migrate Incomplete Tasks" button in the breadcrumb
3. Click to move all incomplete tasks to today
4. Tasks are removed from the original date

Migration Details

• Adds "Migrated from [date]" above transferred tasks
• Updates front-matter metadata to track migrations
• Places tasks at your cursor position (doesn't overwrite content)

Creating Tasks

Tasks can be created using:

• [ ] syntax for checkboxes
• / command menu → Task

Any task created this way is tracked for migration
